About Us

Information Technology Department (BİM) is the information and communication technology unit of Hasan Kalyoncu University. We plan, operate and develop the digital infrastructure needed by students, academic and administrative staff. We aim to provide uninterrupted, secure and accessible services to the campus community in all processes, from network and server infrastructure to application services, from information security to end-user support.

Our Mission

As the IT Department, our core mission is to provide reliable, sustainable and accessible IT services that support the academic and administrative processes of our University. To this end, we manage the campus network, server infrastructure, corporate applications and end-user services from a single point. When designing our services, we adopt information security, personal data protection and service continuity as our core principles.

To ensure our users can access resources whenever and wherever they need them, we provide Microsoft 365-based productivity tools, off-campus access via VPN, centralized identity and authorization, Wi-Fi and wired network services together. So that you can track your technical issues, requests and suggestions through a single channel, DESK Support System as the primary point of contact.

Who We Serve

We shape our services to suit the different roles of the campus community. Below you can find the highlighted services for each role group.

Students

We support your educational process with services such as the Student Information System (OBS), corporate email, campus Wi-Fi, off-campus access (VPN), software licenses and SPSS installation. For information and guidance you may need, you can review our Procedures page and submit your issues via DESK.

Academic Staff

We address your requests regarding classroom technologies, software licenses, publication and database access, email and calendar services, and research infrastructure. Our IT Department teams are here to support in-class technology needs and access to academic applications.

Administrative Staff

We support the digital execution of administrative processes with the Electronic Document Management System (EBYS), SAP, shared (group) email accounts, file sharing and storage services. You can track all your requests and issues through a record you open via DESK from a single center.

Researchers

We provide high-performance computing resources, licensed software, project data storage and sharing infrastructure for research projects. You can plan your project-specific additional needs together with the IT Department and set up the appropriate infrastructure.

Account and Access Management

We manage corporate account creation, password policy, role-based authorization and central identity authentication services.

Email and Calendar

We provide Microsoft 365-based corporate email, calendar and communication services campus-wide.

Network and Connectivity

We plan and operate campus Wi-Fi, wired network and off-campus access infrastructure via VPN.

Web Development and Hosting

We develop and host corporate websites, department pages and web applications.

Software and Business Applications

We manage and support licensed software and business applications tailored for academic and administrative processes.

Server and Data Infrastructure

We centrally manage campus server rooms, virtualization, backup and data infrastructure services.

Information Security

We design and audit technical and administrative security measures in line with ISO 27001:2022 objectives.

Document and Digital Asset Management

We ensure institutional document flow and management of digital assets through EBYS and related processes.

Productivity and Collaboration Tools

We support collaboration through Microsoft 365 applications, online meeting and co-working tools.

Research Computing

We provide high-performance computing, data storage and licensed software resources for academic research.

Communications

We plan and operate corporate telephony, internal lines and online communication infrastructure.

Support and Training

We support the digital competence of the campus community through the DESK support channel and end-user training.

Compliance and Quality

Our priority is to carry out our services in compliance with national and international standards. Within the scope of our ISO 27001:2022 Information Security Management System journey, we are structuring asset inventory, risk assessment, access management and incident management processes. Our goal is to continuously improve information security awareness and controls throughout the campus.

We adopt the technical and administrative measures required under Article 12 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and provide the necessary controls for the lawful, secure and minimal processing of personal data. We develop our web services in accordance with WCAG 2.2 A accessibility criteria and reflect the public IT compliance requirements set by the Presidential Circular dated 21.06.2025 into our processes.
