Overview

Hasan Kalyoncu University provides SSO access via a single institutional account (@hku.edu.tr) through portal.hku.edu.tr to OBS, EBYS, OYS, institutional e-mail, VPN, library databases, DESK support, and BAP tool panels. The account lifecycle (creation, suspension, closure) is integrated with Human Resources and Student Affairs systems; departure or graduation triggers automatic processing.

Account Activation

Automatic account creation within 1 business day after HR / Student Affairs registration (BIM.PR.16).

How to Apply

Account Activation

After being registered by HR or Student Affairs, complete your first login at portal.hku.edu.tr. Further information: BIM.TL.02 — Account Activation Instruction.

2FA Setup

Once your account is activated, enable 2FA using Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Details: BIM.TL.03 — Multi-Factor Authentication Setup Instruction.

First Login and Password

On your first login, change the temporary password and set a strong password (minimum 12 characters, letters + digits + special characters). Details: BIM.PR.12 — Password Management Procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Use the Forgot Password link at portal.hku.edu.tr. A verification code is sent via SMS to your registered mobile number, and you can set a new password instantly. Details: BIM.PR.12.

After HR or Student Affairs records your departure, your account is suspended within 4 hours; data is archived after a 30-day waiting period and the account is deleted (BIM.PR.15). For mail content, first take your own backup via Google Takeout.

After the trigger from HR / Student Affairs, your account is created automatically within 1 business day. Account credentials are sent to your registered personal e-mail or mobile number. In case of delay, open a ticket at desk.hku.edu.tr.

Immediately open a 2FA Reset request at desk.hku.edu.tr. After identity verification, the BIM team will reset the device and send you a one-time link to set up a new Authenticator. Processing time: 1 business day.

The sponsoring academic department head opens a Visiting Academic Account request at desk.hku.edu.tr. A copy of the passport / ID and the period of assignment (up to 12 months) must be submitted with the form. The account is activated within 2 business days (BIM.PR.16).
