How to Apply
Unit Supervisor Request
Requests for extensions, VoIP, SMS, or mobile lines are submitted by the unit supervisor via destek.hku.edu.tr under the Communication category.
BIM Network / Telephone Team Evaluation
The request is assessed for PBX capacity, licence availability, and regulatory compliance (KYS.POL.03 KVKK, KYS.POL.04 access policy).
Device / Software Installation
Upon approval, the dial plan is configured, the softphone is installed, the SMS template is approved, or the mobile line is delivered with a signed delivery receipt.
Frequently Asked Questions
From on campus, dial the 4-digit extension directly. From off campus, call 444 6 458 and enter the extension via the IVR menu. The same dial plan applies from any device with the VoIP soft phone installed.
The mobile line and device are allocated within the unit’s budget; personal use is prohibited. BIM monitors monthly invoices and reports any overages to the unit supervisor.
A monthly credit allowance is defined per unit. If the standard credit is exceeded, an additional request may be opened with unit supervisor approval. Message content must comply with KVKK, and the recipient list must be selected on the basis of explicit consent or legitimate interest (KYS.POL.03).
Call recording is performed only on the grounds of explicit consent or legal obligation (e.g., call centres, security). A verbal notification is given before recording begins; retention periods are defined under KYS.POL.03 (KVKK) and recordings are deleted automatically upon expiry.
Yes. Submit a conference call request through your unit; a dedicated dial-in PIN and join link will be generated for the guest. Recording is optional and participants must be notified in advance.
